Try these five tips to get the most out of your next massage.
1 Arrive early
Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. That way you’ll have plenty of time to fill-out your client form, change and nip to the loo.
2 Give your therapist all the info she needs
Tell your therapist everything; from the areas you’d like her to focus on to any injuries she should be aware of.
3 Be vocal
Let your therapist know if you don’t want oil in your hair – ask for a shower cap. Also, it’s very important to let her know if you’re finding her pressure too soft or hard.
4 Consciously try to relax
This may sound like a no-brainer, but how many times have you started stressing about to-do lists while lying on a massage table. Try and clear your mind and focus on the massage strokes. Putting all your energy into the simple motions will help your relax.
5 Extend it
Make your relaxation last as long as possible by going straight home after your massage. Don’t plan anything for the rest of the day. Just revel in your relaxation. Drink plenty of water to help your body flush out any toxins that the massage may have released.
