TV and radio presenter, Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp shares her love for reading and what’s on her nightstand right now.
What are you currently reading?
I Have Life
by Storme Omartian (Harvest House Publishers US, R200) and Toward a Meaningful Life by Rabbi Simon Jacobson (HarperCollins Publishers, R270).
What’s your favourite childhood book?
I’m enjoying reading my childhood favourites to my baby girl – I’m living vicariously through her! Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss (HarperCollins Publishers, R176), Wormy, the Hairy Caterpillar, and the Rainbow by Olga Villa (Soto Publishing Company, R300), you name it.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learnt from a book?
The most important lesson is the actual experience of reading — the joy, knowledge and me-time that come from time with a book are priceless!
What are your top picks when it comes to books?
I read a lot of mommy books but books on entrepreneurship and self-help are equally important as I co-own a PR business, staying on top of trends is paramount.
