Yesterday the annual Nelson Mandela Lecture took place in Johannesburg. A whopping 15 000 people gathered at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium to witness the speeches of influential people raising important topics about our country and how they can be improved. The theme for this year’s lecture was “Renewing the Mandela Legacy and Promoting Active Citizenship in a Changing World” focusing on bridging divides, working across ideological lines, and resisting oppression and inequality.
Some of Africa’s most influential celebs were in attendance including speaker Barack Obama. See some of the other celebrities that were there for this momentous occasion:
