Imagine a Hip Hop "God Father" with the Princess of Amapiano in one track? well, you don't have to imagine any longer, Kwesta has teamed up with Nkosazana Daughter for a new single titled "Joy" a combination of Kwesta's classic kwaito inspired hip hop sound infused with a slowed version of Amapiano.
With Kwesta's iconic flow and Nkosazana's angelic voice - the song breathes a new meaning to "Joy" giving the listener permission to be joyful with an inspiring dose of happiness in four minutes. A singalong and playful tune that exemplifies a quest for love, and belonging, speaking to the human condition.
Known for his punchlines, Kwesta delivers a playful rhythmic verse with captivating lyrics that explore themes of gratitude and appreciation while giving life lessons. "Joy" is a second single from Kwesta's upcoming album " Big Bro Theory" a project set for release this year.
Its been three years since Kwesta's last collaborative album with Kabza De Small, he recently reflected on Instagram about his absence in music when asked about his 3 year hiatus "There is no real reason behind that, to tell you the truth. It's me wanting to try other things in between. I mean, we've put out a kwaito album and won a Sama for that ... I had to kind of get back into the raps."
In a statement he also shared what fans can expect from his upcoming album "'The Big Bro Theory' is an album about love. Love for the game, love for my work, love for the people and the art. It’s not some 'tell all'. It’s a service of good ass music."
The public has shown excitement for Kwesta's upcoming album ,marking his return to the throne as one of the country’s top Hip Hop artists. His comeback couldn’t be more timely, as local rap music is in desperate need of a revival, and this new project might be just what’s needed to put it back on the map
