Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2016? When you think back on the first half of the year, how do you feel? Are you on your way to achieving the goals you set for the year or have you been swept up by the busyness of life?
If you (like most of us) feel that you might have taken a wrong turn or two, these five steps will help you get back on track for the second half of the year.
1 Assess
Stop everything you’re doing and take a moment to assess your life. List all the things you do in a typical day and rank them according to which produce the greatest, overall fulfilment.
2 Prioritise
Create a daily action list that features your first, second and third highest priorities. Simplify your day and your life by focusing on these things – you’ll find that you’re more productive and happier.
3 Review
At the middle and end of each day, ask yourself what worked and what didn’t. Then, make a list of both to use as daily “to do” and “not to do” checklists.
4 Reflect
At the end of each day, reflect on what you’ve accomplished. Ask yourself how you can do the same thing more effectively and efficiently tomorrow.
5 Acknowledge
Finally, at the end of each day, write down a few things you are grateful for. When you appreciate what you do have and what you have accomplished, you’ll create momentum to achieve more.
