The first leg of the European shows
has reached its end. And the British Capital known for its off-centre approach to fashion didn’t disappoint! GLAMOUR takes a look at the spring/summer 2017 trends that took London by storm.
As seen at Bora Aksu, Daks and Peter Pilotto
The trend: Crochet creations
Why we love it: It has a fabulous retro feel, and it’s breathable, light, feminine and simply screams summer.
How to wear it: Take your bikini from beach to bar with a crochet dress or a crochet top paired with light-wash denim cut-offs.
What to add: Heading for the pool or beach? All you need is flip-flops and a canvas bag. Come evening, swap out the flip-flops for wedges and the canvas bag for a chic clutch.
As seen at Marques’Almeida, Osman and Toga
The trend: Bell(e) of the ball
Why we love it: It’s a ’70s favourite, and this season designers gave the bell sleeve a modern twist by moving away from its more traditional cut and experimenting with different proportions.
How to wear it: For a vintage vibe, go for a bell-sleeved blouse or top in paisley or graphic chevrons. Want to look more contemporary? Try lace.
What to add: Beauty tip: pair with beachy Boho waves.
As seen at Christopher Kane, Topshop Unique and Versus Versace
The trend: Walk on the wild side
Why we love it: Animal prints are a classic that re-emerges every season, making a print piece in a flattering cut a great investment.
How to wear it: Want to play it safe? Wear only one item of animal print per outfit, whether it’s a skirt, top, shoes or bag. Feeling dramatic? Slip into a leopard or zebra print bodysuit.
What to add: A sling bag. Style tip: never mix animal prints!

The trend: Be the bomb
Why we love it: They’re super versatile and will inject your wardrobe with a cool sportswear edge.
How to wear it: Throw it on with a T-shirt and jeans or over your shoulders when you rock a short dress and heels. Fabric tip: luxurious satin is a must, and will make your bomber look more expensive.
What to add: Retro shades.
As seen at Emilio de la Morena, House of Holland and David Koma
The trend: Off-the-shoulder gear
Why we love it: This is the perfect way to flash some skin without being too revealing, and the cut suits all body types. Plus, no more awkward tan lines!
How to wear it: From blouses to dresses and jumpsuits, you have plenty of options.
What to add: Figure-fixing tip: to avoid looking swamped, pair a floaty off-the-shoulder blouse with structured shorts or skinny jeans.
