There is something different about the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Perhaps its the air of being in the South of France, and the influence of avant-garde European fashion, but the stars are always on their style A-game.
For the film industry’s biggest event, which runs from 17 -28 May this year, the black-tie, elegant, formal dress code is held to a higher standard, and celebrities are unafraid to take fashion risks.
This year, we’ve seen a plethora of trends come to the fore including sparkles, vibrant colours, structured silhouettes and cutouts, all incorporated into show-stopping gowns.
There is never a shortage of head-turning evening dresses in the French Riviera, with celebrities debuting bespoke designer creations.
