Glamour chats to Daniela Canny on her journey to discovering her personal style

Daniela Canny is a content creator that specialises in curating fashion and travel content. Glamour had the privilege of chatting with her to discover her journey to embracing her personal aesthetic.

GLAMOUR: Can you describe your personal style?

Daniela Canny: My personal style is chic, elevated, effortless. I gravitate towards timeless pieces with modern silhouettes, neutral tones and luxurious fabrics. I love incorporating interesting prints, dark rich tones, and statement items that exude confidence and sophistication.

G:Can you share your journey in cultivating your personal aesthetic?

DC: My journey has been an evolution, rooted in self-expression and influenced by my travels, collaborations, and exposure to global fashion trends. I started by exploring what made me feel confident and aligned with my personality. Over time, I realised the importance of investing in high-quality, versatile staples, and blending them with bold, standout pieces to create a unique and a cohesive look.

G: What are the key components to create your style?

DC: Key components include a foundation of timeless essentials – like a perfectly tailored trench coat, versatile pieces in neutral tones, structured blazers, classic denim – paired with trend-driven accessories or bold statement pieces. Texture also has a big role; I love mixing luxurious fabrics like silk, linen and tulle to add depth and elevate my outfits.

G:What trend do you dislike the most, and what is a trend that you love?

DC: I dislike trends that feel overly gimmicky or lack longevity – like excessive logo prints, or over-the-top micro-trends that lose relevance quickly. On the other hand, I love the return to quiet luxury and understated elegance. Timeless fashion with thoughtful details is a trend I embrace wholeheartedly.

G:What item are you looking forward to adding to your wardrobe?

DC: I’m currently eyeing the Saint Laurent Le 37 bucket bag in a rich chocolate brown. It’s the perfect statement piece that I know will elevate my wardrobe and stand the test of time.

G: What advice do you have for others embarking on their journey of self- discovery of their personal style?

DC: Take your time, and start by understanding what makes you feel confident and comfortable. Explore different aesthetics, draw inspiration from your surroundings, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Focus on quality over quantity, and build a capsule wardrobe of versatile pieces you can style in multiple ways.

G: How has understanding your personal aesthetic affected how you show up?

DC: Understanding my personal aesthetic has given me confidence and clarity in how I present myself. It’s helped me create a cohesive brand identity, whether I’m curating content, styling outfits, or travelling to new destinations. I’ve realised that how you dress is an extension of your story, and embracing my style has allowed me to express my individuality authentically.
