It’s time to get low with low-slung waistlines. High-waist jeans are giving way to lower skirts and pants. Take it low with a cropped top to show off the midriff for a Y2K and Miu-Miu inspired look. Will you go low and rise with the latest trend?
The low-slung trend was seen on the Versace, Miu Miu, Brandon Maxwell, Missioni, Coperni, MGSM, Blumarine and Tom Ford spring/summer 2022 runways. From ultra low-rise baggy jeans to very low minis. The trend was very popular in the Noughties worn by Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton but today low-slung denim is now as oversized and baggy as it is low-waisted. Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber take to the streets in the low-slung trend and often wear vintage denim or be inspired by Julia Fox and DIY your jeans to make them even lower. Jeans now have lower than low waistlines and sometimes there is no waistband but the question is just how low will you go?
Fret not about showing your midriff and feel confident in the low-rise trend. Wear low-rise jeans with a crop, an oversized T-shirt or a cardigan not fully buttoned. Try a sporty look with a tight polo tee with baggy low-slung jeans and Adidas sneakers. There’s a way for everyone to wear the low-slung trend.
