The Cape Town International Jazz Festival takes place on the 25th and 26th of April with a lineup of celebrated artists that have shaped the jazz scene. With any music festival dancing is the order of the day which means spending a few hours on your feet enjoying the electric performances of your favourite artists. Deciding what to wear can be stressful but why not be inspired by the soulful tunes of jazz to help you. Think of flowing fabrics like a beautiful dress paired with a faux fur coat to add the element of drama to your fit. Think of Chloe and their elevated Boho chic aesthetic that was presented at their latest runway show for added inspiration on how to achieve the “new boho”look.
Denim is another suitable option for a night of dancing. My current obsession is the denim barrel jeans in a dark wash paired with a classic t-shirt, blazer and a cardigan thrown over your shoulder and a pair of chunky loafers. That is a perfect look that is both comfortable and chic. Add a bag that can be worn as a crossbody to keep your hands free. My style tip is to add a cardigan in a bold hue like an oxblood red with a handbag in the same colour to ensure cohesiveness without being too matchy matchy.
Another option is to style a pair of wide leg beige trousers with a sheer black top for a more sophisticated look with leopard print sneakers and a faux leather bomber jacket for an edgier aesthetic. Swap out the sneaker for a boot if you prefer but either way your look will hit all the style notes as you enjoy the festival.
