Ugandan born German actress Florence Kasumba, rocked the magical yellow paw-printed carpet in a stunning David Tlale ensemble at the Lion King’s London premiere on Sunday night. This is the second time that Kasumba is dressed by Mzansi's internationally acclaimed fashion designer. Tlale dressed Kasumba for the Black Panther premier in Los Angeles last year.
The lovely actress donned an ecru coloured cape antelope bomber and maxi antelope skirt from Tlale’s latest Africanah collection;which is fresh from a number of successive shows from Arise Fashion Week in Lagos to the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference that was in Cape Town recently. She paired it with gorgeous gold leaf shaped earrings from Soboye, an Afro luxe fashion and lifestyle boutique in London.
‘Florence is such an amazing star and I am honoured that she requested me again. I wanted to give her a look that is different but classic and timeless and stands out on the celebrity Disney carpet. The look speaks of Africa that is global, elegant and true to itself,’ said David.
Kasumba is definetly one to watch. For this movie, she plays the voice of a hyena, Shenzi and has also appeared in films such as Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War and Wonder Woman. Other voices featuring in The Lion King include Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor and John Oliver. South African talent also lent their talent to the adaptation, including composer Lebo M and actor John Kani, who plays the voice of the shaman ‘Rafiki’.
