Kim Kardashian Is Getting Dragged For Reviving a Divisive Y2K Trend You Probably Loved in Middle School

On March 15, the 43-year-old reality star shared a series of photos from her latest trip to Paris, leading with a topless take on the mob-wife aesthetic. However, the majority of her followers had questions, comments, and concerns about the neck-to-toe Balenciaga look she wore in slide five.

Kardashian couldn't have been more covered up in the second-to-last photo, seemingly layering at least seven tops, including three spaghetti strap camisoles à la 2004. For her bottoms, Kardashian stacked lacy thigh-high stockings over opaque white tights.

While some Instagram users called the outfit “ridiculous” or “atrocious,” many of her followers got more creative with their critiques. “5th slide is me at the airport when my carry on is overweight,” one fan joked, while another suggested it was more like when Joey wore all of Chandler's clothes on Friends.

Some had questions like, “What in the Abercrombie and Fitch is this?” Or, “What in the Disney channel fashion show is going on?” However, one Instagram user who lived through early aughts had a serious request: “Do not try bringing layering 5 tank tops back.”

Many others agreed. “Not the layered spaghetti strap tanks again 😫,” one commenter wrote, while someone compared the ‘fit to Ashley Tisdale’s wardrobe in the early 2000s…and they're not completely wrong, though I would argue that's not an insult.

If there's one think Kim Kardashian knows how to do, it's start a heated conversation, but she probably didn't think her followers would have stronger feelings about layered tank tops than the literal tank chilling in her garage. Seriously, what was that about?
