On 20 August 2022, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Afleck brought to a head a love story that spans nearly two decades.
The couple walked down the aisle at their home in Georgia,California, and enjoyed a weekend of festivities with their nearest and dearest. The Jenny from the Block singer wore a lineup of custom Ralph Lauren creations to celebrate the occasion.
For the ceremony, JLo stunned in an ethereal classic turtleneck column dress. The dress featured ruffles made from 500 handkerchiefs and over 1000 metres of fabric, which were then sewn by hand to create the romantic, voluminous skirt.
The sleeve was inset with a cascading ruffle, draped from the back of the turtleneck to the shoulder. A cathedral-length veil added an additional layer of drama.
To complement the gown, the singer wore Mikimoto’s classic white South Sea cultured pearl drop earrings flanked by diamonds set in platinum, and a ring featuring the same diamonds and a central South Sea pearl. Of course, her jaw-dropping rare green diamond engagement ring was on display too.
The groom complemented his bride’s look in a classic Ralph Lauren Couture white tuxedo jacket, black trousers and a black bow-tie. All five children were also in white Ralph Lauren Couture.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lavish dinner and dance party where Jennifer wore two more Ralph Lauren creations. The first was a figure-hugging gown with plunging neckline, open back and a cascading string of pearls over the neck and shoulders.
For this, she accessorised with Mikimoto pearl and diamond stud earrings -in keeping with the pearl theme which played a central role in all of her bridal looks. Pearls symbolise calmness, integrity, loyalty, purity and serenity, but also wisdom – and particularly wisdom gained through experience - a fitting sentiment for a couple who found each other again after decades apart.
The second dress was a mermaid silhouette featuring a Swarovski crystal-embellished keyhole neckline. It was finished off with a removable organza hood. Striking flower drop earrings featuring marquise and pear-cut diamonds by Samer Halimeh (worth a reported $2 million) added to the sparkle.
True to her Jlo persona, the star certainly delivered the signature glam style we know and love her for - and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
