New York Bridal Fashion Week has been and gone, and we want to draw attention to one show in particular: the Marchesa Fall 2016 Collection. The Marchesa runway was sparkling with beyond exquisite bridal creations. The designers stuck to their signature glam-meets-romantic style, with dramatic tiered ruffles and lavish embroidering. But what stood out most for us were the braided hairstyles sported by the models!
The soft and simple ‘dos were created by Steven Turpin for Moroccanoil. The romantic styles were all braided with #floral accents weaved into the look, and perfectly complemented Marchesa’s ethereal gowns.
Steve has given us the secrets to recreating this statement look – and we’re going to share them with you!
1 Prep
Starting with damp hair, apply Moroccanoil Treatment and Moroccanoil Heat Styling Protection
for manageability and soft hold.
2 Smooth
Next, apply Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion throughout your hair and blow dry until smooth.
3 Braid
Part your hair in the center and begin creating a Dutch braid on one side, all the way down the back and secure the end with a clear elastic. Then Dutch braid the opposite side.
4 Tuck
Crisscross the ends of each braid, tucking them underneath one another at the back of your head to create an effortless chignon. Secure it with hair pins.
5 Adorn
Secure a flower crown or headpiece (your choice) along the top of the braids with pins. Set the style with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray in Medium.
6 Finish
Finish off the look and add luminosity by misting the style with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine.
