We caught up with the charming guys from the SA trio Beatenberg, and if you know anything about local music the three-piece pop band will be no stranger to your ears. Not only were their lead-off singles a hit on our popular charts, but the entire The Hanging Gardens of Beatenbergalbum was a resounding success as well. What would you say is your best attribute, and why?
Ross: My hands, I’m not sure why but it’s always been the favourite part of my body.
Matthew: Dexterity.
Robin: How I smell.
Who or what inspires you?
Ross: I could say cheesy things like using my mind, learning languages and nature.
Matthew: Trees and birds inspire me and the things people have done.
Robin: A friend of ours, Gad, who has really taken care of us a lot over the years – he inspires me
What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Ross: Mines pretty simple, a four-course meal that I would cook myself. Just two people at home enjoying each others company over good food.
Matthew: Being somewhere that neither person has been before and just getting to know one another.
Robin: Making memories with someone.
What fills the spot at the top of your dream destination list?
Ross: Hawaii
Matthew: Beatenberg in Switzerland
Robin: Vienna, Austria – the city of music
Do you have any regrets when it comes to past relationships?
Ross: Not having boundaries.
Matthew: Pass.
Robin: I can be quite immature, so later on I realise I should have tried harder.
Who is your style icon?
Ross: Painter Bob Ross
Matthew: I don’t really have someone that I look up to I kind of just go with how I’m feeling.
Robin: A mix of musicians like André 3000 and Kanye West. I also love SA street style.

Ross: Monica Bellucci
Matthew: Shania Twain and Barbra Streisand
