The 6th of June 2024 saw the return of GLAMOUR’s Most GLAMOURous fashion awards in partnership with Bernini after a 4-year hiatus. The ceremony took place at the prestigious contemporary art museum Zeitz Mocaa in the heart of Cape Town. Winners and guests were treated to an unforgettable evening filled with glam, poise and good company.
To kick off the evening guests were welcomed by a glamourous display outside the museum which included a walk on the blue Bernini carpet, and a photo moment behind GLAMOUR’s spotlight ring hugged by two luxurious Aston Martin cars.
Sticking to the “Iconic Fashion” theme, stars showed up and showed off in their impeccable designer outfits - from our red-carpet winner Thembi Seete’s olive elegant loose pants paired with an exquisite showstopper feathery top, to the high fashion visionary winner Rush Tush in a daring pink see- through tulle dress by local designer Kat van Duinen, Guests embodied the essence of glam and couture.
Attendees were ushered to the main event, on arrival Bernini did not fall short on drinks with not one, not two but three open bars serving The Real Sparkling Sprinterz. Opening the ceremony was GLAMOUR’s Editor In Chief Nontando Mposo dressed in Imprint , she welcomed the guests in a heartfelt speech, thanking the sponsors and the GLAMOUR team for putting together such an incredible event after 4 years.
she concluded by introducing GLAMOUR’s Most GLAMOURous host Nandipha Mqoco who embodied old Hollywood glam in a black long sleeve form fitting velvet dress accessorized with pearls. With ease and gaiety Nandipha brought a jovial ambiance to the room, exuding confidence and flair with her lively presence. Attendees listened attentively as she shared her journey with fashion and iterated the house rules for the evening.
To announce the first winner of the evening reigns were handed to Motherkind who presented the winner for best red carpet looks to Thembi Seete, Amongst the winners was former Miss Universe Zozibini Thunzi, Tv presenter Nomalanga Shezi, the legendary singer and actress Abigail Kubheka and Yaya Mavudla who scooped the Reader’s choice award sponsored by our skin care partner Neutrogena.
In between winner announcements guests indulged on delectable mouth-watering cuisine - from the flavorful Potatoe salad to the savory grilled brisket - ending off with the sweet satisfying Vanilla fairy cakes with butter-cream icing.
In a simple yet elegant table set up guests created a sense of community and connection while sipping on overflowing glasses of Bernini and taking quick snaps of each other.
The event ignited the power of fashion and reinforced the beauty of collaboration. Neutrogena on boarded as a skincare sponsor and activated their products whilst adding the retinal boost to the goodie bag. Kerasilk made sure the GLAMOUR team looked ravishing and did a few touch ups to their hair. Arcstore brought a beauty supply to pamper winners and the GLAMOUR team.
NARS was centre stage showcasing their light reflecting Foundation. The Coach scent was lingering as the brand activated their sought-after perfumes. Attendees also eyed a few Fossil items from their incredible handbags to their intricate jewellery on display.
GLAMOUR’s Most GLAMOURous awards were an inspiring event, the room was full of courages, empowering and stylish women, the conversation was flowing - DJ Dre kept dropping records after records - the ladies opened the circle, dancing to the beat of their own drum. In a spontaneous moment the guests also witnessed a once in a lifetime moment when Thembi Seete jumped on stage to sing along to the ‘It's About Time’ classic by the legendary group Boomshaka.
True to GLAMOUR style guests did not leave empty handed – as a token of appreciation guests were sent home with a jam-packed goody bag with special mementos from Bernini,Neutrogena, Goldwell, Motherkind, NARS, Standard Beauty, Coach, Bvlgari, Elizabeth Arden and many more.
