With a blush-pink colour palette and an early-spring wedding date, this wedding was bound to be beautiful.
Joe and Kathryn met on a blind date! Can you believe it?! But she says she instantly knew he was ‘The One’. “I knew we were meant to be together when he said ‘I know God has only lent you to me for this short period of time we have in this world but I promise to always look after you'”, says Kathryn. Oh, swoon!
The couple chose to have a small intimate wedding rather than a big bash. “We only had 36 guests and our venue was not a typical ‘wedding venue’, but rather a well known 5 star Menlyn Boutique Hotel. Our wedding style was simple elegance with a touch of corals, golds and blush pink so we wanted a venue that reflected that.”
“For my wedding dress I contacted a seamstress in Hong Kong. I really wanted something that no one had seen before,” explains Kathryn. Her dress featured a unique lace back with dropped rhinestone details. “I also sent the train of the dress to Kathleen Barry Bespoke Occasions, who added silk flowers similar to those in my bouquet – it tied my whole look together.”
“My bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets were silk flower brooch bouquets which can be kept as a future family heirloom,” says Kathryn. Kathleen also handmade her beaded cuff bracelet, earrings and the corsages for the bridesmaids. “Each of my bridesmaids are individual in personality and style, so I wanted to reflect that in their dresses and accessories.”
