Chelsea Neman and Jordan Klein, founded and ran The Tappan Collective, an online gallery selling fine art at affordable prices, from Neman’s West Hollywood apartment for nearly two years before moving into their downtown L.A. office, so if anyone knows about home offices, it’s them!
Here are some of their tips on making your home space work for you, and click through the gallery to see some of our favourite office pieces!
Embrace the un-office
Chelsea and Jordan kept their paint colour professional – beige – but chose peach chairs and a turquoise rug for pops of colour. In addition to hanging art the typical way, they propped it against the wall.
Go big
You won’t have a conference-room table at your disposal, so consider a larger-than-average desk. “My kitchen table was big enough that we could sit next to each other to go over portfolios – or have our own space to crunch numbers to to write social media posts,” says Chelsea.
Invest in pretty storage
“You need a place to file bills, receipts, the essentials,” says Chelsea. But who says it needs to be a filing cabinet? A storage ottoman works just as well.
