Alexis Chaffe is is a Durban-born, Cape Town living fashionista who went from working as a freelance stylist to a fashion editor and is now the editor of the the 36Boutiques online magazine, 36Magazine. Fashion is her weekness, she loves Victoria Beckham’s style and simply can’t live without statement gold jewellery and an LBD – so, it seems like we’d get along just fine! Stay posted as we’ll be taking a look inside Alexis’ wardrobe everyday for the next two weeks. In the meantime find out more about her style below:
GLAMOUR: How would you describe your style?
Alexis: In transition! I’m turning 30, which has changed things up a bit. I’ve had to relook at my wardrobe and have some serious chats to myself. But I think I’m settling on ‘classic chic’ with a creative twist.
Why do you love fashion?
I like the finer things in life. So why settle for ordinary when you can be extraordinary? For me, fashion is a means for anyone anywhere to get noticed and be appreciated.
What are five things you can’t live without?
Skinny jeans, black high heel pumps, mascara, champagne and those special supportive people in my life, who know who they are.
What’s your favourite fashion splurge?
I love a good frock! Though shoes have always been a significant weak spot – really fashion in general is my weakness, I’m a shopaholic.
What are your handbag essentials?
My dearest BlackBerry, my make-up bag containing the essential bits ‘n bobs, sunglasses (whichever are my faves-of-the-moment – right now my Roberto’s) my leather Country Road wallet, Tic Tacs and my business card holder.
Who is your style icon?
I love Blake Lively, but HRM of fashion – Victoria Beckham, can’t go without a special mention. She always looks styled to perfection, and she is a fellow Brit after all!
What makes you feel GLAM?
Black eyeliner, statement gold jewellery and a black dress – I know its super stereotyped, but hey, a girls got to have a go-to look that just works.
