The Maison Karl Lagerfeld hosted a VIP opening event at its new store in Cape Town, South Africa, on November 7, 2024. VIP guests and local influencers were invited for an exclusive first look at the immersive store, to discover the latest collections and World of KARL experience.
During the event, a live sketch artist created bespoke artworks of guests wearing pieces from the Fall-Winter 2024 collections. The season features elevated statement pieces and day-to-night styles with Art Deco influences, a monochromatic palette and mixed metallics.
Guests included South African cricketer Faf Du Plessis; TikTok star Nadia Jaftha; media personality Maps Maponyane; actress and model Pearl Thusi; digital creators Sergio Ines and Audrey Lunda; and singer-songwriter Msaki. Guests were entertained by live music from DJ Sir Vincent and Pearl Thusi.
The store is located at the iconic V&A Waterfront shopping center on the upper level, surrounded by local and international luxury brands. This is Karl Lagerfeld’s first store in the Western Cape and its third store in South Africa, joining locations in Johannesburg (Sandton City) and Durban (Gateway Theater of Shopping). Karl Lagerfeld stores in South Africa are operated through a distribution partnership with Europa Art Group.
