Up until a few weeks ago, the gorgeous former model and creative, Leigh-Anne Grant’s surname was Jenkins…that was until she married hearthrob Stormers fly-half Peter Grant. Having lived in the UK and now living between Cape Town and Japan, how can a girl like this not have great style?
Leigh-Anne will be sharing her fashion and style choices everyday, so stay posted as we keep up with her daily outfits for the next few days.
Here she tells us a little bit about her style, where she shops and how her husband is her number one thing she can’t live without (awww)!
GLAMOUR: How would you describe your style?
Leigh-Anne: Relaxed, comfortable and feminine.
What do you love about fashion?
It’s like art. These days anything goes, so if you like it you can wear it and call it ‘some kind of fashion’. I am not one of those people though, I play it pretty safe. I just want to feel good, confident and feminine in my clothes.
What are five things you can’t live without?
My husband is definitely number one! Then my phone, lip balm (I use La Mer and I love it), mascara and pumps – I love pumps!
Whose style inspires you?
I can’t really pinpoint any person, but rather pictures that inspire me. Sometimes it’s an actress or a model wearing something I like, usually someone wearing something feminine. I live in Japan for 7 months of the year and the fashion there is amazing, so walking in the streets there inspire me too.
What’s your favourite fashion splurge?
Dresses and pumps, I have loads of them. I used to only wear dresses and have only recently started wearing jeans. When people I know see me with jeans on, they laugh. Its weird!
What do you always keep in your handbag?
Lip balm, my phone, lip gloss, chewing gum and my purse. I have a small handbag, so i can’t fit in much. I decided not to have a big one anymore as it always lands up filled with nonsense.
Where do you shop?
I am quite lucky because my parents live overseas, so I get to do a ‘proper shop’ once or twice a year, as well when I am in Japan. But when I’m in SA I like to shop at Woolworths and Country Road.
What are your top tips for cost effective shopping?
Cheap items can actually sometimes work out to be the most expensive items in your cupboard. If you spend R 1000 on a jacket, but you wear it all the time, it turns out to be a cheaper than your R 50 item you bought but only wore once! My advice would be to buy because you need something not because you want it!
What’s your one tip for taking your outfit up a notch?
Make sure your hair and makeup looks nice and groomed (not over the top, just groomed), it always makes an outfit look better. Plus, smile! When you smile your outfit always looks so much better.
What makes you feel GLAM?
My attitude I guess, clothes just don’t do that for me! You are the only person who can make yourself feel GLAM. Sometimes feel GLAM when in my training kit just, because I am feeling good about myself.
Otherwise a beautiful little summer dress and pumps make me feel beautiful, I am not really a GLAM kinda girl!
