Pleats, cutouts and statement suits were the key trends to know about on the Spring/Summer 2023 runways.
CUTOUTS
Take the plunge and show a little skin with cutouts. This year’s cutouts are bigger and bolder. Keyhole cutouts or holes down the side will be sticking around for a few more seasons. Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siriano and Proenza Schouler had feminine but alluring cutout dresses while Stella McCartney had cutout one-pieces. Be inspired by this trend and wear cutouts.

PLEATS PLEASE
The classic fold is back. Pleating was a prominent trend on the spring/summer 2023 runways from Az Factory, Alberta Ferretti and Fendi. You will be set in a pleated dress or maxi skirt. There are many options with pleats from shimmery metallics, printed, colourful, sheer to monochrome.

STATEMENT SUITING
This is the year to make a statement with suiting. Be striking in an oversized suit, prints or opt for a bright colour like yellow, pink, green or blue. Wear this trend head-to-toe. Take Versace where fuschia suits look like candy or Stella McCartney where the suits are more relaxed but still make a statement. This is the season for padded shoulders, wide pants and bold colour.
