Jockey celebrates 40 years of supporting women

Over the past four decades, Jockey has solidified itself as South African’s most-loved and supported underwear brand.

From its inception, Jockey has prided itself on being a brand that caters for the needs of women, by creating innovative products that celebrate the female form and fits their bodies perfecty.

This year, the company celebrates 40 years of the ‘For Her’ brand, with underwear garments that still remain a staple in wardrobes across the country.

Jockey first made waves with its innovative French Cut - a versatile shape made from sustainable cotton and modal mixed fabrics. The French Cut continues to be a firm favourite for its quality design, fit and comfort. The leg binding is designed to hold the leg openings firmly while the full body coverage across the buttocks giving its wearer the confidence to look and feel their best. Cotton is the fabric of choice thanks to its comfort, non-irritation, stretch, durability and ease of washing.

In addition, Jockey has pioneered a quality knitted fabric to suit every lady’s style as well as introduced the signature scallop elastics that are synonymous with the Jockey ladies underwear pack range.

However, innovation comes at no compromise to the styling, fit and comfort. Instead, it caters to the fabric and elastic upgrades which are soft, plush, and non-irritating, and improve the shape of the garment.

In honour of these women and those consumers that have supported Jockey over the years, we would like to celebrate them as we celebrate our 40 years of creating products that have not only stood the test of time but are still relevant and desired fashion staples.

This month, we are delighted to launch a milestone competition that encourages women to support one another by nominating a woman that inspires them.

In honour of Women’s Month and 40 years of the For Her brand, Jockey is hosting a significant “40 For Her” Jockey competition on Instagram. To enter, consumers can nominate a special woman in their life to win a prize valued at R40 000. In return, the nominator will also stand a chance of winning R4000 worth of Jockey garments. The prize will also include substantial discounts on select female garments at Jockey stores and online from the start of August. “

South African based influencers and female powerhouses including Amanda Du-Pont, Khanya Mkangisa, Nadia Jaftha, and Carol Mkhize are all putting their voices behind the campaign. They are also offering special discounts to their followers from 1 to 7 August 2022.
