Beyoncé may have bypassed the 2024 Grammys red carpet, but she didn't cut any corners when it came to her look: A western-inspired, Renaissance-esqu ensemble by Pharrell Williams, which she wore to watch husband Jay-Z accept the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.
Donning a variation of the closing look from Louis Vuitton’s fall 2024 menswear collection, Beyoncé wore an oversized black leather jacket with silver embellishments in the house’s signature damier pattern. Like the original outfit, she wore a white button-up with turquoise buttons, and a black leather bolo tie. Putting her own spin on the look, Bey traded the runway’s pants for shorts, belted with an LV monogram buckle. While she could’ve worn cowboy boots, she instead opted for a pair of pointy-toed pumps with an ankle strap. For a final piece of rodeo flair, she added a wide-brimmed off-white cowboy hat.
To some, the look echoed what has been a big night for country music—especially for non-country musicians. Miley Cyrus channeled her godmother, Dolly Parton, with sky-high hair; Lana Del Rey walked the carpet in a Loretta Lynn-inspired look—a nod to her forthcoming album, Lasso; and Tracy Chapman made a rare appearance on stage to sing “Fast Car” alongside Luke Combs. Could Beyoncé's look point to a country album in her future? Fans of “Daddy Lessons” know that she's more than equipped to take on the genre, but perhaps Bey is just appreciates a high-fashion take on her Texas roots. We certainly do.
