Situated in the historic Manor House, the beautifully designed, new Okapi space brings eco- conscious luxury shopping to the forefront, combining the brands values with the farms dedication to preserving nature and eco-friendly practices.

A Showcase of Exquisite Offerings and Sustainability Okapi is known as a pioneer for the use of ethically sourced exotic leathers, including springbok and ostrich, as well as regionally sourced cowhides. This emphasis on local materials and craftsmanship helps empower South African artisans and communities. Showstoppers available in the Okapi store include a new limited edition rattan Nambi Clutch and the Nambi Feather Clutch, available with a new shoulder length handle and in with the addition of a striking red colourway.
Further additions include a new decorative leather and felt handle, enabling fans to add an updated edge to existing signature bags like the Aja Pouch and the classic Yemaja. In a move towards the truly unique, customers can also create their own bespoke bag by selecting preferred skins, colour combinations and trims. Alongside the selection of bags, the Okapi lifestyle offering has grown to include tableware, such as table mats, vases and glasses; plus games, including backgammon and playing cards.
There is also a selection of exquisite jewellery and beautiful hand-drawn silk scarves on offer. And for youngsters, just in time for Christmas, there’s a new kids memory game called Ocean Life, featuring beautiful hand illustrations of sea creatures. An Oasis of Luxury and Nature. Part of an estate dating back to 1694, Anthonij Rupert is home to an impressive selection of award winning vintages that pair beautifully with an array of edibles against the backdrop of a verdant valley and the Groot Drakenstein Mountains.
The store, situated in the newly refurbished Manor House, was thoughtfully designed by a team experienced in creating flagship boutiques for renowned luxury brands. Featuring the original wooden ceiling, a custom carpet inspired by the local landscapes, curved shelving, and unique marble tables and wooden islands showcasing local flora and fauna, the space offers a sophisticated shopping experience, that can be complemented by the estate’s signature bubbly and nougat pairing.The new Okapi boutique will be an exceptional addition to the fashion landscape for Franschhoek locals and visitors alike, Benjamin adds. “Allowing guests the opportunity to shop the best of South African luxury, with a group of friends, or in an intimate personal one-on-one experience.”
