Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg 2016 has been and gone with a bang, and we were so proud of the local talent seen on the runways.
Gracing the frow with her presence at every single show was our senior fashion editor, Chrisna de Bruyn. These are the five shows that caught her eye, as well as some of her favourite looks from each of those designers.
1 Tamara Chérie
Bringing winter to life, the ‘Dusk to Dawn’ collection was full of luxurious textures, like mohair knits and sequinned tulles, and a rich colour palette of oatmeal, mustard, burnt orange and caramel.
2 Marianne Fassler
Deep jewel hues dominated this artistic collection, with every fabric from velvet to lace on show. The absolute show stopper however, was the bright orange eyeliner!
3 SELFI
Designer Celeste Arendse stayed true to her roots with her usual bold, colourful prints. Every look was finished off with a cute beret and a pair of Asics sneakers. Love!
4 Stefania Morland
Her usual light, flowy and textured designs were translated into a very beautiful, and feminine winter collection. Complete with sequins, fringing and embroidery, of course!
5 Mille Collines
Designers Marc, Inés and Namnyak presented their collection entitled ‘Curio | City’. The range celebrated all things Africa, and was dedicated to Aamito Lagum and her beautiful lips.
