The Monique Lhuillier spring-summer 2016 show caught our attention with the beautiful textures and structure sweeping the runway. But what stood out most for us was the incredible updos worn by the models!
The slick, wet-look style was created by Recine for Moroccanoil. It featured a perfectly polished, unconventional knotted bun which complemented the structure of Monique’s collection.
Recine has given us the secrets to recreating this statement look – and we’re going to share them with you!
1 Dry
Starting with damp hair, use your fingers to comb Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse through your strands from root-to-tip. Roughly dry your hair.
2 Shine
To create the high-shine style, generously mist your entire head with Moroccanoil Glimmer Spray. Using a wide-tooth comb, comb your hair to the back center of your head and secure with an elastic.
3 Tie
Thread a 10 cm piece of elastic horizontally through the center of the ponytail (behind the pony elastic), and leave it loose for the next step.
4 Twist
Gently twist the ponytail into a figure 8 chignon, tucking in any loose ends. Then pull each side of the threaded elastic around the chignon and tie in a knot at the center to secure the chignon in place.
5 Set
Set the style with a generous mist of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray.
