Twiggy’s tresses still making headlines

Remember the sassy 60s supermodel, Twiggy? She’s moved up and on from the trademark pixie cut and has been named the latest brand ambassador for L’Oréal Professionnel.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted to become a L’Oréal Professionnel brand ambassador, I truly believe in the skill of the professional hairdresser and am so proud to represent the brand. My hair has always been important to me and has been a big part of my image throughout the years. I hope to inspire women to be confident in their personal style and never be afraid of trying something new.”

Twiggy – whose real name is Lesley Lawson – joins existing ambassadors Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Blake Lively and will front the brand’s Professionnel line of hair products.

The 65-year-old model added that hair care is a vital part of her beauty regime as she only feels “complete” when she has had her locks perfectly coiffured.

She explained: “My hair is a really important part of me, I always feel more complete when I’ve just been to the salon, my colour is fresh and beautifully styled. I only trust my colourist to get my blonde just right.” Don’t we all?

Twiggy – who has graced the covers of fashion bibles Vogue and Elle in the past – has also been the face of cosmetics brand Olay and after fronting a campaign for Marks and Spencer in 2005, she started designing her own collections for the department store.

It’s great to see stars from the past still shine brightly!
