Everyone has at least one VMA moment they remember – whether it’s Britney and Madonna’s kiss or Beyoncé announcing her pregnancy by simply opening her jacket and rubbing her belly. Last night’s ceremony had some pretty amazing moments too, and we’ve got them for you right here!

Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Jessie J opened the show with a medley of their hits – Ariana’s “Break Free”, Nicki’s “Anaconda” and Jessie’s “Bang Bang” which features the other two ladies. Nicki almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction – she had to resort to holding her dress to keep it intact!
Taylor Swift performed her brand new single “Shake It Off” in a glittery, retro number to complement the song’s sound.
Taylor later took a selfie with pal Demi Lovato, and posed with Jessie J.
There was a touching tribute to actor Robin Williams, who passed away on 11 August. There’ll also be a tribute to the late actor at this week’s Primetime Emmy Awards.
Sam Smith delivered an emotional rendition of his hit “Stay With Me”.
Iggy Azalea performed “Black Widow” which features Rita Ora, in a catsuit with spider web cut-outs.
Beyoncé delivered a stellar performance, closing the show with a medley of all the songs of her self-titled album in a sparkly leotard, many of them for the first time. After her performance, Jay Z and Blue Ivy came out to give her the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Blue even congratulated her, saying “good job, mommy!”
