GLAMOUR’s most GLAMOURous winner and our favourite Nubian princess, Nomzamo Mbatha is currently in the lavish French Riveria city of Cannes.
Nomzamo is in the south of France to attend the annual Cannes Film Festival and assist in the launch of the inaugural Joburg Film Festival. The Joburg Film Festival, a progressive international film showcase, will roll into the city towards the end of the year, running from the 28th October until the 5th November.
Nomzamo travelled to the gorgeous city of Cannes right after her most personal interview aired on e.tv’s Close Up. In the interview, she discusses the devastating losses her family has faced, including the death of her grandmother, two sisters and uncles. Despite opening up about such traumatic events, Nomzamo soldiered on to great heights in all spheres of her career.

She shared a touching message on Instagram before heading off to Cannes: “Last year I asked God to take me to the Cannes Film Festival… Tomorrow I fly out to France to attend the festival and assist in launching the Inaugural Joburg Film Festival… My heart is literally jumping out of my chest with excitement! I’m in AWE of what He is doing. I thought losing my grandmother, father, older sister, baby sister and my uncles was going to break me. But God is restoring. Putting back the pieces of my heart together again.”
We think Nomzamo personifies strength, and we’re so proud that she is the elegant and beautiful representation of South Africa in Cannes!
