It’s time for one of the most exciting, stylish and starry events of the year: our annual GLAMOUR’s Most GLAMOURous Awards, which honour South African woman who epitomise this magical quality.
Every day leading up to the event on Thursday 21 April, we’ll be posting a little Q&A with the some of the winners so you can get to know them better! Meet the first three lovely ladies below:
Bronwyn Day
Stylist and entrepreneur What is the most glamorous thing you’ve ever done?
I will never forget watching a Karl Lagerfeld runway show in Paris (I sat 2nd row, but hey, I was still happy!). I was working for a magazine in London, and I remember wearing a bright orange pea coat and having my picture taken by street-style paparazzi post-show! It was a serious WOW moment!
Which celebrity do you think epitomises glamour?
The late Princess Diana in a swimsuit on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and Cate Blanchett wearing couture on the red carpet.
Nomzamo Mbatha
Actress and presenter
I recently bought this stunning Hervè Leger dress in LA. It broke the bank and is now sitting idly in my wardrobe.
Which celebrity do you think epitomises glamour?
Without a doubt, Kate Hudson and Aishwarya Rai.
Vanessa Carreira-Coutroulis
Miss SA 2001 and businesswoman
Sitting front row at Milan Fashion Week.
Which celebrity do you think epitomises glamour?
I think Marella Agnelli is one of the most glamorous women who has ever lived. As a member of the Italian nobility and the matriarch of one of Europe’s most influential and dazzling families, this beautiful socialite prompted Truman Capote to name her his ultimate ‘swan’. She has epitomised grace, style and elegance for decades and embodies the true meaning of glamour.
