This past Saturday, Cape Town was painted yellow as Veuve Clicquot brought the “sport of kings” back to the city for the 6th time. Held at Val de Vie Estate, the prestigious polo event was even more glamorous than we had hoped for.
Inspired by Madame Clicquot, the theme for this year’s polo was ‘Let Life Surprise You’. With this theme the champagne house brought new energy to the day; a luxurious, playful, bright and innovative spirit. This same spirit could be seen in the outfits of the fabulous attendees.
“Inspired by Veuve Clicquot’s Yellow Label, the dress code for the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo 2016 was bright & bold polo chic. This theme was also decided upon in homage to the spirit of Madame Clicquot, the French businesswoman who took over her husband’s Champagne business when she was widowed at age 27, a very bold move for her age and at that time. Her audacious spirit was also brought to life through the beautifully styled space and incredible fashion. It was wonderful to step into the pavilion and actually see the brand’s innovative spirit and timeless excellence brought to life.” – Aimee Kellen, Moët Hennessy Champagne Portfolio Manager for South Africa.
Here are some of the best looks we spotted throughout the day.
