Somizi Mhlongo is no stranger to the South African limelight since he rejoined the industry as an Idols SA judge in 2015. in the last three years, he has had many moments in his career to look back on and feel proud of, but his latest project has got to be a highlight of a lifetime.
He went on Instagram yesterday to announce that he was the new face of makeup brand Black Opal. Not only that, but he is also the first black South African male to land a gig like this. We are not surprised, to say the least, because Somizi can always be seen with a face that is beat for the gawds; so it was only a matter of time before a beauty brand swept him up. Somizi is known for always taking a stand for the LGBTQI community so this is a huge step for the community in South Africa.
