Are you working a weave? Make sure you’re taking care of those precious locks with these tips from Kardashian Beauty Hair:
1 Keeping it clean
Whether it’s made from natural or synthetic hair, your weave needs to be looked after carefully. Every week or two, wet your hair with lukewarm water and work a small amount (about the size of a R5 coin) of rejuvenating shampoo into your scalp and gently smooth it onto your weave. Rinse your head well and let your weave air dry.
2 Repairing your roots
It won’t come as a surprise that weaves tend to pull at your roots and break your natural hair. To prevent this breakage and reverse the signs of damage, regularly apply a rejuvenating repair treatment to your roots.
3 Styling it right
We can’t stress it enough! If you’re going to apply heat to your weave, always prep your hair with a thermal protecting spray. Not only will this make your locks last longer, it’ll also keep your ends looking luscious. Tip: Sleeping on a silk pillow or with a silk wrap will reduce the need for straightening your weave.
4 Nurturing your natural hair
Every now and then, it’s a good idea to put away your weaves and give your natural hair a break. Once you’ve taken one out, treat your locks to a hydrating, nutrient-rich mask. This will help restore shine and smoothness to your hair and improve its overall condition.
