Actor André Lotter is making waves on the South African entertainment scene with numerous acting gigs behind his name, including his role on Kyknet’s Villa Rosa, where he played the character of Liam le Roux, for which he won the 2015 Royalty Soapie award for Best Male Villain in a Soap. The talented actor also has extensive experience acting on stage and film.
GLAMOUR caught up with André, currently portraying Rickus Welman on 7de Laan, a role keeping him very busy…
What would you say is your best attribute?
I would say my easy-going nature. I always try and give people the respect and opportunity they deserve.
Who and/or what inspires you?
Driven and successful people inspire me – when I can see that a person pursues their dreams with determination and respect and still treats everybody with humility and compassion.
What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Anything when my wife is happy afterwards. I love it when she is happy and smiling.
What fills the spot at the top of your dream destination list?
I’d love to travel to Switzerland, but New York is a close second.
What’s your favourite drink?
I’d have to say good coffee. But I have a great love for craft beer.
Do you have any regrets when it comes to past relationships?
Not at all. Every person that crossed my path has taught me something about myself and about relationships. I’m a firm believer in the saying that “everything happens for a reason.”
What are you reading at the moment?
My 7de Laan scripts! Currently shooting a storyline, so no time for other scripts or books at the moment.
