We celebrated love, friendship, fashion and Valentine’s to the max at this year’s GLAMOUR Great Love Journey, held at Joburg’s super chic Hyde Park Corner.
The evening began with stylish and refreshing cocktails, courtesy of Rose’s, followed by a sensational performance of highlights from the classic Swan Lake, performed by the Joburg Ballet Company.
Then it was time to take our places at the centre’s superbly decorated Social Kitchen & Bar for bubbles, wine and a five-course dinner, curated by Michelin-star chef Russell Armstrong. Think Namibian oysters, roast fillet of Barramundi and gorgonzola and truffle panna cotta, accompanied by Durbanville Hills wines. The air was seductively scented with Versace Eros Pour Femme fragrance, thanks to the spray girls who kept things fragrant. Makeup artists from Maybelline provided on-the-spot touch-ups. And the ALDO stand was the place to try on some of the sexiest shoes around — and stand a chance of winning a pair. In between all of that, we were treated to a second dance performance, while the photo zone buzzed with delight as guests posed against a choice of backdrops — Paris, Roses and Desert Island Paradise.
It was well into the night when we called an end to the celebrations and headed off for dreamland — but not before collecting GLAMOUR goodie bags packed with Versace Eros miniatures, Rose’s iced teas, Maybelline makeup, Typo notepads and pencils, The Body Shop body scrub, Moroccanoil treatment, a Mills & Boons novel and a voucher from ghd.
