Best book you read this year?

I’m usually a fiction reader, but early this year I challenged myself to a self-help book called F**k No! by Sarah Knight. As a lifelong people pleaser, this book has taught me how to say no to things I can’t, shouldn’t or simply don’t want to do without being rude or feeling bad.

What's your most memorable piece you wrote this year?

Choosing a favourite is tough, because I enjoyed writing almost all of them. But if I had to choose, it will have to be my hair articles (digital and print). As someone who loves experimenting with braids and cornrows, I particularly enjoyed writing The ART of Cornrows. Not only did I learn a lot about the history and different styles, but I got inspo for my next hairdo.

Kitten heels. They have unexpectedly become a wardrobe must-have. If you’re anything like me who shies away from public attention, opting for kitten heels is the perfect way to wear heels with a casual outfit without drawing any attention to yourself.

Which Glamour event that you enjoyed the most in 2024?

I'll be a little biased here but the Glamour Book Club Women's Month Edition. The collaboration with Momentum was written in the stars, Also, the Glamour Book Club was launched during Women's Month last year so it was a full circle moment. When I envisioned a space that allows women to connect over their love for literature, I could have never imagined the sense of community that has been fostered over the last year. My heart is full! Mmm...I'm a mom so the Mother's Day event is also right up there! And then there was WOTY!!! We're here to celebrate trailblazing women and seeing it translate in real time was WILD!!! Hahahah! The Summer Party lives in my mind rent-free. It's giving "Cape Town, what the heck???" If you know, you know! I know you said one but...

It has to be the Desiree Ellis cover story. She left me feeling inspired and affirmed that it's not over til it's over!

I don’t have a particular item in mind It’s more an aesthetic and I’ve loved the quiet luxury trend. It’s nothing new but it will carry you through many seasons. It’s all about investing in pieces that have longevity.
