Pioneering By Nature is the Inverroche film introducing 4 creators of the present and future African luxury who are not just claiming their seat at the table but building it.
Narrated by the iconic Shado Twala the short brand film features Inverroche Founder, Lorna Scott alongside distinct fashion designer, Palesa Mokubung, award-winning ceramicist, Zizipo Post and extraordinary culinary artist Wandile Mabaso.
Set in Stilbaai against the backdrop of striking African Fynbos botanicals, the film explores the question, “What makes a pioneer?”. From the home of the Inverroche Distillery and inspiration behind this artisanal African Luxury gin, we follow the four creatives on a captivating journey of their process as they use raw materials, tools and other artefacts to fashion the beautiful creations they are known for.
The founder of Inverroche, Lorna Scott, had the idea to create a coalition of pioneers in the African luxury goods sphere.
“To look beyond the obvious is integral to being a pioneer because if you’re to be first you have to be different. The very nature of being first by definition is that you’ve broken the barrier of the norm. How do you remain a pioneer? You always have to innovate and stay one step ahead of the rest, that is one of the ways I thought we could expand and dive deep into one of the core elements of our brand story which is creativity. I thought this story would be told more passionately if we could bring together pioneers who were doing exactly that.”, shares Scott.
Ancestral tales of how early humans prepared food, the intricacy of an ancient and revered art form using clay and being in the ‘Bay of Sleeping Beauty’ ignited the artistic expressions seen in the film.
Pioneering by Nature is a first step towards telling credible stories of African luxury creators and pioneers through brand collaboration yet in an authentic, self-sufficient way.
