SEE: Orms is empowering the next generation of women in arts

This womxn’s month, we’re celebrating the importance of belonging to a strong professional network as a powerful means to share experiences, resources and establish invaluable relationships, by welcoming the launch of Orms Circle - a programme which provides one young female-identifying artist with the mentorship and resources to break into the art industry! Spearheaded by @anelisamangcu – a curator and growing force in the art community – Orms Circle is a collective of creatives and industry professionals including @haneemchristian, @tyra__naidoo, Toby Orford and @savannah.feeke, who will mentor the selected artist in a variety of fields. Orms Circle will provide the artist with not only a strong support system imparting a flow of industry insight, knowledge and guidance to everyone involved, but will also give them the opportunity to create and exhibit their first solo exhibition, hosted at FORM - Orms’ new creative space. Seek the support, nurture the connection, join the circle. Submissions are open from today until 13 September 2019! Spearheaded by Anelisa Mangcu– a curator and growing force in the art community – Orms Circle is a collective of creatives and industry professionals including Haneem Christian, Tyra Naidoo, Toby Orford and Savannah Feeke, who will mentor the selected artist in a variety of fields. Orms Circle will provide the artist with not only a strong support system imparting a flow of industry insight, knowledge and guidance to everyone involved, but will also give them the opportunity to create and exhibit their first solo exhibition, hosted at FORM - Orms’ new creative space.

Orms Circle will also grant the artist the opportunity to create a body of work with the support of the mentors, as well as their first solo exhibition which will be hosted in the new Orms building and curated with the help of Anelisa Mangcu. This will include studio space, lighting and gear as well as printing and framing services, and other additional requirements.
