While the movie features Babes Wodumo’s hit song Wololo, the singer received the opportunity to contribute an additional set of vocals to the Black Panther album. Unfortunately many feel that the feature was a missed opportunity for the singer, as the song also features her overbearing boyfriend and manager, Mampintsha. Twitter was ablaze with memes and comments about the musical mishap, upon hearing Babes’ song.
On the track we hear Babes say:”Everybody says Kikirikiki” and “Oh my word, oh my gosh”. The remainder of the record is filled with beautiful harmonies by singer-songwriter Zacari. And then, with the audacity of an uninvited dinner guest, Mampintsha delivers a few gqom inspired lyrics.
Can Mampintsha let Babes Wodumo shine on her own 😢 pic.twitter.com/7jU2M6zzHR

We were really hoping that this would be Babes’ big break on her own, but it looks like Babes and Mampintsha are a packaged deal! With that said, the song is still a major feat for Babes and for South African music. So download the song and press play before you hit the town for a night out with your girls.
