Be afraid… Be very afraid.

Halloween is around the corner and The South African HorrorFest film festival wants you to join in on all the action! From 26 October to 4 November, the Labia Theatre in Cape Town will be screening everything from movies to short films, host a live movie soundtrack performance, and allow for your most creative costume ideas to come alive. A number of the movies screened, including the highly anticipated OUIJA: Origin of Evil, will be making their African premieres. As for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, expect audience participation to take you on a strange journey… Head over to horrorfest.info for more details.

Catch the countryside

Summer is in full swing and there’s no better way to make the most of it than spending plenty of time outdoors, so head to the Darling Hills for the Groote Post’s October Trail Run Country Market on 30 October. Get those summer bodies working by going on a scenic trail run (choose between the 18km, 13.5km or the 4km run) followed by a selection of artisan foods, gourmet produce and some of Groote Post’s best wines and Darling Brew’s craft beers. For more on how to join in on the day’s festivities, go to grootepost.com.

See the new tapas menu at steenbergfarm.com.

Wonderful woman

This season, smooth metal and a natural palette replace the vibrant primary colours of seasons past. Inspired by North Africa, the SS17 collection is a celebration of the female spirit: both strength and compassion are depicted in the collection’s simple knots and polished metals.
