BIC Soleil has announced its first-ever official brand ambassadors in South Africa. Named the BIC Soleil Squad, the trio will be tasked with motivating young women to find their inner shine.
The announcement follows a nationwide BIC Soleil Squad search during the month of September. After several rounds of reviewing entries from dynamic and inspiring women from across South Africa and interviewing the finalists, the BIC Soleil Squad was selected. The Miss Soleil brand ambassadors are a vibrant mix of resilient, confident, inspiring and empowering women from all walks of life.
Tumelo Matela (@tumelomatela), age 25, who hails from Centurion, says her purpose is to be a beacon of hope, to inspire change and encourage people to redefine and embrace their power. Matela cites that her ability to be fearless in who she is and embracing her story is what makes her truly shine.
Amanda Nchukana (@_lifeofcurves_), a 24-year-old Capetonian, saw the competition as a platform to guide others on the road to self-love, self-acceptance, and living a life of self-empowerment. Nchukana says that being authentic, loving yourself even on your worst days and just living in your truth is what defines beauty for her.
Sherri Andreas (@colourfulcreature) is 30 and lives in Cape Town. She wants to teach young girls the importance of discovering and embracing their uniqueness, which will ultimately lead to a life of happiness. She feels that low self-esteem is something everybody battles with, and wants to inspire young girls to be kinder to themselves. Andreas also believes in the power of women supporting women through the little things.
As BIC’s brand ambassadors, the BIC Soleil Squad will connect with schoolgirls and young women in South Africa looking for guidance and inspiration. The selected winners each won a cash prize of R10 000, a year’s supply of BIC Soleil products, assistance in building their online presence, a professional photo shoot and a publicity campaign to help them further their shine.
Lillian Henderson, Marketing Director of BIC, South East Central Africa, commented “We’re very excited to work with Amanda, Sherri, and Tumelo. We were not only impressed by their entries but also inspired by their values and life philosophies. Whether it’s to uplift the youth of South Africa or spread a message of hope and positivity, these three women are the embodiment of what BIC Miss Soleil represents.
With the help of our BIC Soleil Squad, we will continue to inspire women to embrace their strength and shine with their minds, their beauty, their diversity, their abilities and their talent.”
