Chimamanda Ngozi-Adichie to release her highly anticipated novel: Dream Count

The highly acclaimed author of bestselling novels "Half of a Yellow Sun" and "Purple Hibiscus", Chimamanda Ngozi-Adichie, is set to release her eagerly anticipated new novel, "Dream Count". It's been almost a decade since Adichie last published a novel, and fans are eagerly awaiting her return to fiction. The award-winning novelist will once again be teaming up with publisher 4th Estate, who previously handled the publication of her successful books, including "Half of a Yellow Sun" and "Americanah".

In recent years, Adichie has explored other writing avenues, including an essay on grief, written in tribute to her late father, and a children's book, "Mama's Sleeping Scarf", penned under the pseudonym Nwa Grace-James, dedicated to her daughter. With the global release of "Dream Count" slated for March, Adichie's fans can finally look forward to immersing themselves in a new body of work from the celebrated author.

Here is the synopsis for the novel:

Chiamaka is a Nigerian travel writer living in America. Alone in the midst of the pandemic, she recalls her past lovers and grapples with her choices and regrets. Zikora, her best friend, is a lawyer who has been successful at everything until — betrayed and brokenhearted — she must turn to the person she thought she needed least. Omelogor, Chiamaka’s bold, outspoken cousin, is a financial powerhouse in Nigeria who begins to question how well she knows herself. And Kadiatou, Chiamaka’s housekeeper, is proudly raising her daughter in America — but faces an unthinkable hardship that threatens all she has worked to achieve.

Dream Count pulses with emotional urgency and poignant, unflinching observations of the human heart, in language that soars with beauty and power. It confirms Adichie’s status as one of the most exciting and dynamic writers on the literary landscape.
