In 2012 South African entrepreneur Natalie-Dale Mills founded Crystal Creations as she began creating a beautiful jewellery brand that today, 4 years down the line, offers a vast collection of the most exquisite, high-quality jewellery pieces.
With humble beginnings, Natalie’s vision for the brand intensified as the range of available items grew and the interest in the collection and the brand became greater. At the end of 2015, Crystal Creations introduced their new range of designer handbags and opened their first stand-alone store in The Mall of The South. In March 2016, they opened their second & third stand-alone store in Clearwater Mall and Mall of Africa have additional plans to expand this year.
The product range has a vast number of styles and colours and each season new trend setting styles emerge from the design tables of Crystal Creations. Previously the collection strongly focused on mirror-polished stainless steel as the main design range but the brand has recently grown the collection to include beautiful, modern rose gold pieces and most recently introduced a prominent, precision crafted 925 sterling silver jewellery collection.
Crystal Creations has introduced a patented specialised ‘E-Coating’ over resin set crystals, stopping any stones from coming loose. Crystal Creations affordable range offers the perfect accessory items for the sophisticated female who ultimately lives their life with style and elegance. What started out with a little gold clutch in 2007 has grown into a successful and much-loved South African brand. The brainchild of Nicola Kuschke, GTHOMAS Designs was born out of a desire to give women exactly what they need.
Asked how the company has changed since launching in 2007, Nicola says, “GTHOMAS has come a very long way. We now work predominantly with genuine leather and produce a summer and winter range annually. As a designer, I have learned so much along the way and am always improving and honing my craft.” Nicola’s designs are inspired by seasonal trends, both locally and internationally; “it is always important to look at handbag shape and size trends – this heavily influences our range and what our customers are looking for. I am currently very inspired by our natural canvas and leather range – it is a timeless collection that has a classic and luxurious feel.”
Most of GTHOMAS’ materials are sourced locally, although the majority of leather and some textiles come from the East, Asia and South America. “I do try and use South African manufacturers and suppliers as much as possible, to support the local industry.” So, where to next for GTHOMAS? “We’d like to grow our online presence and enable our customers to shop for their favourite items online – digital is the future of fashion and we need to ensure we’re available and present within that sphere!”
