TheNeon Run

2016, a 5km run & music festival, will be glowing up Wanderers, Johannesburg on Saturday the 14th May 2016 with an epic new stage, route and lineup. Neon Runners will crawl, run, walk, roll or ride their way through a 5km neon wonderland, dressed in their lumo-best, ready and warmed up for an electrifying after party with South Africa’s top DJs and musicians.

The Neon Run 2016 route will have you glowing crazy with some new fluorescent fun and more Glow Stations than ever before. Each Glow Station is designed to light up your night with music, black lights, UV arches, UV paint and unique themes. Neon Runners will Travolta their way through Disco World, become human walks of art when they blast their way through Paint Paradise and encounter other splashy surprises.

After the run is said and done, the lights will go down and the music will turn up. The Neon Run 2016 will be taking the entertainment to the next level with a new and improved stage, state-of-the-art light show, lazers, effects and line-up that will have entrants running to get the festival finish.

The Neon Run will take place in Johannesburg on Saturday the 14th May 2016 at Wanderers Stadium, starting from 2 pm – 11.30 pm. Gates open at 2.00pm with a wide range of bar areas and a dedicated food zone available for some pre and post race refreshment. Chanel is revealing every dimension of the eyes with their new Eyes Collection 2016!

The Chanel Makeup Creation Studio presents a collection that reveals every dimension of the eyes. It includes a multi-dimensional mascara, an eyebrow definition kit, and powder and cream eyeshadows.

Zara Home has opened its first store in the country at the new shopping centre, Mall of Africa, in Johannesburg. The store measures more than 700sqm spread over one spacious floor and includes all the collections of the home décor brand, including Zara Home Kids.

The store also features an innovative design, true to the current image of Zara Home around the world. The Group’s architecture team has designed a white façade with the gold Zara Home logo. The store inside will present an avant-garde and elegant concept in harmony with the simplicity and respect for nature upheld in the materials used within the store. The use of neutral colours, chestnut wood and marble floors with an antique mother-of-pearl effect are just some of the features of this Zara Home store. 

As with all Zara Home stores throughout the world, the Mall of Africa store will present two collections each year, inspiring the design team to present ideas each season that are always on trend. The store will then be refreshed with the delivery of new items to the store twice per week.

Global Sports Brand PUMA has partnered with GraphersRock, Tokyo-based graphic designer Tamio Iwaya’s design house famous for its unique taste of cyber punk and techno culture, to launch a collection that exhibits the creative synergy of both brands.

GraphersRock selected the words techno, cyber punk, experimental laboratory and high-tech to inspire the sneaker design. Choosing two of PUMA’s most iconic 90’s runner silhouettes, the Disc Blaze and the R698, they worked with PUMA to translate a funky visual story with a play on material. By placing pictures and typography to represent their design ethos, they’ve created a unique design favoured by gadget geeks or ‘otakus’ in Japan.

The PUMA Disc by GraphersRock comes in two colourways, black and white. Decked in shiny leather with an engraved gild forefoot, it features eye-catching printed pictograms and typographies on the side panels and midsole. “Tokyo Japan” is prominently printed on the side while the GraphersRock logo is featured on the tongue and heel. Graphic patterns also adorn the inner as seen through the TRINOMIC sole.
