Add some sparkle to your spring with amazing food and bubbly!
Last week, The House of J.C. Le Roux treated us to a luxurious afternoon that we just couldn’t wait to tell you about!
Set right in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, the estate’s picturesque views, rolling hills and beautiful vineyards are the first things you notice upon arrival. The next is the impressive and glamourous farm-style building, complete with gorgeous fountains and greenery.
Walking through the entrance, you’ll be struck by a spectacular welcome area: fresh modern decor, a grand vintage spiral staircase, and the chatter of happy guests enjoying their bubbles fill the space. While you wait, be sure to take the self-guided tour through the cellar to learn all about the work that goes into making one of their special bottles of wine. If you don’t know much about the magic of winemaking, you will find the different processes absolutely fascinating.
The House of J.C. Le Roux has just launched a new deluxe tasting experience which we were fortunate enough to try: delicious, handmade delicacies paired with their renowned Méthode Cap Classique. Set in the stylish tasting room, the luxury pairing consists of five incredible treats each paired with one of the brand’s signature MCCs. Combinations like salted millionaire shortbread and fudge paired with the creamy Pinot Noir, minty mojito meringue paired with the crisp Brut, and fudge coated fig paired with the sensational La Valleé Rosé, make it incredibly difficult to choose a favourite!
After your exciting tasting experience, spoil yourself to a fabulous lunch at the stylish Le Venue. With its fashionable decor, inviting al fresco deck and dishes made to compliment your favourite beverage, the restaurant is a gorgeous setting for both fashionistas and wine lovers. For appetisers choose between the three mouth-watering flavours of oysters – Maldon sea salt and lemon, Thai-marinated and Bloody Mary – or scrumptious tapas served with the most incredible sundried tomato cream cheese. The juicy mains include a “bubbly” beef burger topped with crispy bacon, camembert, and an apple-cranberry and La Fleurette chutney (we promise you’ll love this one just as much as your man will!), and a perfectly mixed local and exotic dish of Thai black mussel and Kingklip curry. Trust us when we say you don’t want to skimp out on dessert! We recommend the superb dulce de leche cheesecake, and the local cheese board with fresh fruits and chocolate pretzels!
