Heading to a wedding? Designer Elli-Nicole Sazeides gives us her tips on how to get ready (without upstaging the bride)!
1 Wedding on a wine estate? Opt for vintage
These events have a rustic yet elegant feel, so try a beaded cocktail number or a long dress in a bold colour. Vintage clothes or add-ons are also a good idea. Accessories with jewelled wedges, a faux-fur stole (for later in the evening) and retro hair clips.
2 Try a relaxed look for a beach wedding
A beach wedding calls for something relaxed and quite exotic, like flowing chiffon, something short and shiny, a draped number, or a simple shift dress. Add glamorous flats and metallic jewellery, and you’re good to go.
3 An evening wedding is all about dressing up
This is the perfect time for that long, beautifully embellished dress or unique and daring piece. Think lace, prints, or one-shoulder designs – it’s all about dressing up! This is the ideal occasion for accessories that are bold and unusual. Your heels can be a bit higher than normal, too. Don’t be afraid of wearing a dark colour or even black for the occasion. The old traditions have fallen away, and dark shades are versatile and flattering on all body shapes, as well as understated and chic.
