Pre-Covid I traveled to Italy and Paris, which was a dream come true. Landing in Rome, I could not believe my eyes. It was so surreal; the architecture, heritage, and the emotion in each structure that surrounded me. I could feel each building had a story, and each had seen thousands of years of magical moments that they kept secretly to themselves - aging with wisdom.
It was a complete dream. The hotel I stayed at was just around the corner of the Trevi Fountain and I must embarrassingly admit I had a 'Hey it’s Ok' moment. I had to have a perfect picture moment by the Trevor fountain with no one around me. So I went to sleep full face beat, hair all done - I barely moved to keep it in tact and all I had to do was throw my tutu on, and I was ready for lights camera, action!.
Traveling through Italy was an eye opener. The beauty and rich culture, not to mention the food. A cabrenare pasta was my ultimate and I had no shame eating it for every dinner on my trip. Italian everything is just so much better.
Traveling through Venice was one of my favorite spots. As an artist and photographer, the most beautiful thing and moment in time is capturing a landscape with a reflection in the water. It is as if one world has become two but the other is completely surreal.
I loved walking along the water, seeing the street style like no other and enjoying the culture.
Milan was the complete opposite of Venice. Branded store after branded store. The high fashion, and fast pace but there was the most beautiful cathedral, and what made it even more special were musicians playing and singing in the open street. The groups of strangers that huddle INT, all taking in the same perfect beautiful moment before the buzz began again.
Another memorable moment was Paris. If not the most. Seeing the Eiffel Tower light up like a Christmas tree at night, lights flickering, was an experience of a lifetime.
Walking through the artist district was also so special to me, being an artist myself. Picasso once said-
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up”.
Montmartre was exceptional, seeing different types of artists using different techniques and different mediums. It was truly inspiring.
My trip was decently worth remembering. But of course, I had to bring in my love for fashion and create and capture different looks in different cities. I’m surprised I could fit in all my clothing, jewelry, shoes and of course all my shopping.
