Heritage Day is the perfect opportunity to exude vibrant energy and drape yourself in bright colourful attires. What better way to embrace your heritage than through clothing? One of many things South Africans look forward to are the celebrity Heritage Day looks. Mzansi celebrities are known to put their best foot forward when it comes to dressing up for Heritage Day. Here are some of Mzansi’s celebrities who slayed their Heritage Day look.

Shauwn Mkhize

Proudly showing off her Zulu heritage, Shauwn Mkhize stunned in a colourful mermaid dress draped in traditional Zulu beads from head to toe. She added to the look by pairing the dress with a Zulu headdress known as isicholo, beaded earrings, necklace and iqhabanga (one of the accessories that a Zulu maiden or woman carries in her hand to complement her traditional attire). She finished off the look with a red floor-length diamanté cape to match the headdress.

Laconco

Laconco is known for being proud of who she is and where she comes from. This was evident in her beaded floor-length Heritage Day look. The brown beaded dress was complemented by the beaded headdress and colourful beaded bangles.

Mbalenhle Mavimbela

The Wife’ star, Mbalenhle Mavimbela showed us that simplicity goes a long way as she embraced the beauty of her heritage in a simple yet brightly patterned halter-neck dress. She paired the dress with traditional Zulu sandals called imbhadada (uniquely handmade made from tyres).

Bonko and Lesego Khoza

Bonko and Lesego Khoza gave us couple goals in their matching traditional print.

Phindile Gwala

Phindile Gwala served a bright yellow look accompanied by traditional beads while her partner, bright red heels and a white umbrella to pull the look together.

Minnie Dlamini

Embracing her Zulu culture and heritage, Minnie Dlamini took her followers through some of her favourite Zulu attires that she’s worn, which represent different eras of her womanhood.
