When it comes to weddings, no one does it better than the Royals. With their unlimited budgets and affluent heritage, you can be sure that the dress will be designer, the food will be Michelin star, and the cars will be as luxurious as you can imagine. From a wine-fuelled Aston Martin to a safari truck, here’s a shortlist of six possibilities the ‘rebel’ Prince and his Hollywood bride, have to choose from.

Given as a gift to the Queen to mark the 50th anniversary since her succession to the throne, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh used this glorious vehicle to arrive at William and Kate’s wedding. Only two of these have ever been built and both are owned by the Royal Family.

This luxury custom built car was presented to the Queen for her Silver Jubilee and was used by Kate Middleton and her father to travel to the church when she married Prince William on the 29 April 2011. The car has no number plates and when used by the Queen, the bonnet ornament called the Spirit of Ecstasy is replaced by a silver model of St George slaying a dragon. Custom modifications might not be on your bucket list but if you want to arrive in similar royal style, you can pick up a used Phantom from anywhere between R3million to R8million, as listed on AutoTrader.

This beauty was used to drive the newly married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge from Buckingham Palace to Clarence House. The car was famously given to Prince Charles as a 21st birthday present by the Queen. “In 2008 Prince Charles converted the car to run on special bioethanol fuel made from surplus British wine” advises Angelique Lynch, AutoTrader Marketing Director. “It takes 4.5lts of wine every 1,6km.”

Although there are a few examples of Hollywood darlings marrying Princes, most famously it was the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith that drove icon Grace Kelly to marry the Prince of Monaco in 1956. Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to do a 3,2km tour of Windsor by carriage, cruising around in the latest Wraith would be equally as glam.

Let’s not forget Prince Harry is considered by some to be the family rebel who often goes against the royal norm. With his charming personality and sense of humour, he is popular amongst celebrities. If he were to borrow a celebrity ride, he’d have the choice of Usain Bolt’s red Ferrari F430 Spyder.
Where passion prevails: Army vs Safari

The Prince’s passion for the army, his numerous charities, and Africa is no secret. If he had carte blanche and could choose the wheels of his dreams, would it either be a British Military vehicle to pay homage to The Invictus Games, where the happy couple made their first public appearance or a safari truck convoy in memory of Africa where the couple enjoyed one of their very first romantic holidays.
We’ll just have to wait and see….
